Egyptian Giza 45 cotton is an extra-long staple variety grown in the Nile delta, representing less than 1% of world cotton production. The 170/2 yarn, two-ply twisted at metric count 170, is the flagship yarn of high-quality shirtmaking: the extremely high fineness produces an almost weightless surface, a natural luminosity that reads in full light as a glow intrinsic to the fabric. On white, these properties express themselves without mediation: the surface is uniform, the light reflection consistent across the entire garment, the colour does not fade because the fibre holds it with the same regularity with which it was woven. A fabric that carries within it the idea of excellence without needing to be explained.
